The protests are being organized in the area, with no coordination between categories, and cite differing reasons.

The demonstration in Allentown was to protest “government overreach and unconstitutional rules.”

The protest in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was “for those that have lost [their] jobs, been forced to shut down your business, or are just sick and tired of out tyrannical governments imposing unjust laws and trampling on our constitution.”

One group in Georgia held a call blitz on April 23, offering a script:

I am a taxpaying voter plus I am calling/writing to speech my extreme displeasure with this Governor’s unconstitutional lockdown of your status. This unilateral action is wrecking small businesses all over this state and inflicting more economic and emotional harm than COVID-19. The illness, while severe, will be not nearly as damaging in order to our state as this untamed government overreach.

I need that you act as the voice of reason in our own state legislature, limit his crisis powers and encourage the Governor to open the state involving GA for business no afterwards than the current April 29th order and end this state-sponsored suicide.

The protests be met with states are beginning to consider steps towards reopening. Georgia nearly all notably began the other day.

By next week, nearly half this states will have made steps toward reopening their economies, based on the New York Times.
