Trump ‘moving heaven and earth’ for coronavirus vaccine

President Trump is singularly focused on receiving a coronavirus vaccine to just about all Americans by January in case not before then, son-in-law and top adviser Jared Kushner affirms in a new interview.

“The president is moving heaven and earth to get a vaccine done by the end of the year — if not sooner — to have it produced. We’re simultaneously working on the supply chains so that we can scale production rapidly,” Kushner told Fox Business Network’s “WSJ at Large.” “We’re doing that simultaneously, but no expense is being spared. No effort is being spared.”

Kushner thus touted what he called key advancements in coronavirus testing and vowed the country would remain open once it reopened entirely.

“What we’re doing now is focusing on the fall to make sure that we are restocking the stockpile, we’re working on a vaccine, and we’re doing everything possible so that once we open up we’ll never have to lock down again,” he told Gerry Baker, the show’s host.

In late April, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the government’s top infectious disease expert, claimed he wanted testing to on least double before state lockdowns were lifted.
